MY FAMILY

I am very lucky to have such a great family and a great relationship with them. I am still amazed when I hear my co-workers and friends talked about their family problems. We get along great and, for the most part, always have. I always feel guilty for not calling to my family as much as I should, but who does call the family enough.

My parents are the best in the world. My father, Earl, past away as a result of cancer. He was a great man, my hero and my mentor. My father received his Ph.D. in Chemistry at Vanderbilt, where he met my mother, who was getting her masters. My dad's resume is amazing. The things he did is his life are hard to life up to. He eventually was Vice-President of the university I went to, a Colonel in the US Army reserve, national chairman of a couple of organization, and even National President of a fraternity. I couldn't have had a better dad!

My mom, who I should call more, raised five kids. I'm not sure how she did it. She always stressed reading and education, which I why I guess we have a nine college degrees among her five children. She stills travels a lot, which makes the kids happy, because they get cheap baby-sitting. And because we are spread across the country, she travels far and wide.

My oldest sister, Dianne, lives in San Antonio. Her husband Fred, is an OB-GYN. She is raising three kids, Luke, Mark Zachary, and Hope. Hope is from China. Fred and I went to China to get Hope in 1995, which is a huge story in its' self. Dianne has traveled to England and Europe a couple of times with the kids. I hope to go with them some time.

My oldest brother, Roger, is a doctor in Oregon. He is married to Kim, a music instructor. They have two brilliant kids, Natalie and Nicholas. Natalie is now going to college in Oregon. Go Ducks! Nicholas is just as smart, and both have wonderful musical talents.

My next brother, Rick, lives in Wyoming. He is Vice-President in Charge of Engineering. I'm still waiting to beat him in golf. He knows is time is coming, lol. He is married to Betty Jo, who works part time as a nurse in an allergy clinic. The have two wonderful daughter, Chloe and Kellie. Rick, being an OSU graduate, was the first person to take me to Eskimo Joe's. I think they had only been open for a year. Rick has traveled overseas many times because of his work.

My little sister, Nancy, lives in Amarillo, for the moment. While getting her Masters in Education, she met her husband, Doug. He is a football coach, which means they like to move every so often. They have lived in Woodward and Okeene, Oklahoma, Dumas & Amarillo, TX. They have two great kids, Allison and Alex. Allison is the daughter every parent wants, and Alex is the one that every parent has nightmares about - just kidding. Alex has way too much energy at times, but does extremely well in school. Allison plays the violin.
