Another trip, and more things to see and do. This time, it is to Mississippi for a data integrity review for ORYX and some time to learn and visit about the Civil War. Day One & Two:
Flew in to Jackson via Memphis. Met the other reviewers, ate dinner and slept at the Edison Walthall hotel. Did the review on the second day, then went to a Jackson DiamondKats baseball game. One of the reviewers, Rick,
won a pizza at the game. Drove to Vicksburg that night and stayed and the Harrah's Casino. Gambled a little and lost a lot. Day
Three: Visited the Vicksburg Military Park. This is worth seeing. Spent several hours there. After that, drove around Vicksburg, seeing the historical homes. Drove back to Jackson and stayed at the Parkside Inn (which was a mistake - see pictures). Day Four &
Five: Drove the Natchez Trace, which was very nice. Stopped in Port Gibson and saw many historical homes. Continued on to
Natchez and saw the mansions there. Also, I visited a winery. Drove back to Jackson, stayed at the Hampton Inn, and flew back the next day. Hope you enjoy this trip. There are plenty of pictures to see, especially of the battlefield and the old homes. |
